Fate spoke of the cataclysmic destruction of the cosmos and everything in it - even the gods.
But what fate awaits the few survivors of Ragnarok is a tale yet untold.
(Theme music)
Ragnarok came and Odin fought Fenrir with his chosen human warriors, but it was not enough. Fenrir swallowed Odin and all of his men.
Vidar Odinson avenged his father with his mighty boot and sword.
Many finally had the chance to face age-old foes. Many died.
Garm and Tyr. Heimdall and Loki.
Freyr and Surt. Thor and Jormungand.
The remains of the world sank into the sea and there was nothing left but the void. Creation and all that occurred since was now completely undone, as if it had never even happened.
Some said that was the end of the tale, the end of all tales... but they were wrong.
The battle subsided and what land remained was flooded.
The God of the Sea, Njord, was the first to awaken. Then came Vidar, Frigg, and Thrud soon after. A new sun, the daughter of the previous one, rose in the sky.
"I can see them," cries Njord, once impressively clad but now dressed in rags, sitting on a rock staring at the water.
"See who?" Vidar looks out from the island at a vast expanse of ocean. He and the other Gods were unsure if any humans had survived.
Bubbles began to form in the silent waves. Inside, if one looked closely, they could spot life. One bubble became two -- and then two dozen. Dozens of these watery capsules appeared, but what was inside?
Njord quickly fashions a harpoon and throws it into the water - grabbing the first bubble he sees, he drags it to shore. The sounds of a creature coughing up water could be heard alongside joyous shouts. "THE HUMANS LIVE! HELP ME FISH 'EM OUT OF THE SEA." Vidar, Njord, Frigg, and Thrud all work together to fashion nets made of reeds, then cast them into the waves - and they wait. Once a sufficient amount of bubbles has entered the nets, they pull the humans inward, homeward, to the shore.
Ancestral worlds were destroyed and much of the new world was young and untamed. Vidar and Frigg made claim to the island as Thrud stayed close, all while Njord constantly searches for more survivors to shepherd into the new world.
The Age of Man begins here.
