In the beginning of the world there was chaos and shapelessness.
Demigods and monsters, war and maelstrom. There were gods and the children of gods who turned the cosmos inside and out, breaking and reforging it day by day, fighting for every crumb of power and divinity. Then, in those darkest hours, there arose The Three Gods, superior to all others, who shook the roots of all things and forged order and law.
The world has now lived under them for millenia in a three sided peace; no God stronger than the other two, no God willing to recreate the catastrophe of old. All surviving lesser gods and their worshippers, humans, live under their eternal rule.
Humanity has blossomed beneath The Three in the land they call the Theocracy of Tria.
(Note: this is a map of your former home, not the new playable space)
The lands of Tria are wide and diverse, having been built out to suit the needs of those that live in her borders.
Now, new lands that once long ago belonged to demigods in the Age of Chaos long past have been rediscovered in the east.
You have been tasked to settle and turn these Godless realms into an extension of Tria. Establish lands in the name of your chosen God at all costs, live up to their expectations, and you will not only garner their favor, but perhaps even earn a place in Triumvirate, the City of the Gods.
“The sun will shine again; it has and always will.”
Those who live under the green banner of Dyne praise the new day, and give thanks to others. Improvement of self, community, and nation are expected of his followers. Dyne smiles on steadfastness and hard work. Those that seize the day in whatever form that may take.
Dyne’s chosen capital is the community of Verdentstead, in the pleasant pastures and green hills of the central lands where crops grow strong and communities grow stronger together. His chosen acolytes are a collection of advocates, innkeepers and ambassadors.
“Your word is your soul, bonded forever together.”
Those living under the blue banner of Caed are stoic and unrelenting, always true to their word. For Caed, the intention or context of an oath are unimportant. Good, evil, somewhere between– all that matters is that you keep the vows you make at any cost. Caed’s chosen few are the Silent Paladins, those who have taken a vow to Caed herself. They remain silent all their lives, lest their words become an oath which breaks their bond to Caed.
Caed’s chosen capital is the stronghold city of Azrasis, far to the south in the blazing sands and savanas, the home of the Silent Paladins. Here the walls of the city themselves are carved with oaths to Caed to remain ever standing.
“We are one house, one body, one spirit; honor yourself as you honor me.”
Those living under the red banner of Seldom are independent and self-made. Gifts from Seldom are rare, with worshippers thanking Seldom for what they have rather than asking for what they desire. Glorification of yourself is glorification of Seldom. Seldom has no true chosen. She celebrates any clan that conquers another, though her affections are often short lived.
Seldom has not a single city or capital, but the independent tribes of a land called Raudholm, which stretches from the icy north to the murky swamps of the east. It is home to an abundance of independent city states which have historically been opposed strongly to influence from the other Gods and love a good drink and brawl.
You are an Acolyte of one of the Three Gods. You have elected of your own will, been chosen by your community, or through some other means been sent through a portal to a recently rediscovered land that has been unoccupied since the time of Chaos.
You have been tasked to settle and turn these Godless realms into an extension of Tria. You must establish lands in the name of your chosen God at all costs.
You are a mortal human from somewhere within Tria. You are not kin to, a descendent of, or in any means or form possible biologically related to any God, demigod, etc. no matter how secret or distant the relationship. You are not a werewolf, vampire, or any other supernatual creature.
The era of time is medieval.
Magic is known and practiced. You are familiar with its existence, and may have used it in your life.
On character creation, you will be required to select a God to be an Acolyte of. Consider how you may enhance your character by choosing one God over another. Changing this main God during the course of the game is up to your character. How you worship or attend to your Gods' values is up to you.
You may select one of the Gods' capitals to be from (See above), or create your own land, kingdom, or tribe within the parameters of the included map/era that lives in a Viking To Medieval setting.
Your character has surely seen the Gods in some fashion at some time. There is no mystery as to their existence.
Q: Will I be prevented from playing with other people if they follow a different god?
A: No. Like any other season you may live, work, play, have adventures with, or be around any characters you like.
Q: Can I prevent people from playing with me if they follow a different god?
A: Your character can behave within the rules of our server as you see fit. If they wish only to speak to followers of Dyne, that's a legitimate character choice.
Q: What will these factions actually entail once in the game?
A: All will be revealed in time.
Q: My character isn't religious or spiritual and I don't want to follow any god. What do I do?
A: The gods are an everyday presence in Tria. Their existence isn't a question of faith but of lived experience. You have seen them. Everyone in Tria follows one of the three to a certain extent, they are after all the rulers of your land-- but you certainly don't have to be a devout follower or even cast the gods a second thought. Perhaps your family obligated a deity and faith upon you, perhaps your city, perhaps some other institution.
Q: I'm the opposite-- I want to follow the tenents of all three or multiple gods. How would that work?
A: You would declare your primary god in your app like everyone else and then play your character as a follower of multiple, whatever that means to you.
Q: Am I allowed to switch what god I'm an Acolyte of in game?
A: Yes. This is not a crafting class, it's a character choice. You need only #create-a-ticket in Discord. There are no limits on changing things up, though perhaps others may judge you for it.
